Hey...Remember Us?

It's okay if you don't. And it's okay if you're still mad at us. We totally understand.

In all seriousness, we kind of had a tantrum when the lockout was announced. It was hard to find something positive or something to talk about without the NHL in our lives. It was easier to just quit than have to think/be creative while real life was kicking us hard in the ass. We were pretty devastated to have to live through another winter (our third!) without hockey because of a lockout.

Every day we missed hockey. And every day we thought about the sport we loved. We reblogged stuff at our tumblr and we whined on Twitter but it just made it worse for us. It was a dirty spiral of alcohol and anger and repeated watchings of Miracle and Goon.

Yeah, we talked about maybe posting about the AHL and the Junior leagues but when push came to shove, we just couldn't. It's just not the same when you're inundated with the NHL at all times. When you're stuck in a town that only has an NHL team then you get what you get. It was like we were marooned on Dry Island, stuck with Peter Laviolette and his extreme beliefs.

Or something like that.

And honestly, we want to apologize for that lapse in posting and general communication through this blog. It was shitty of us to leave our faithful readers hanging like that. We don't expect you to forgive us easily but we can only hope.

It wasn't cool of us to leave you all hanging in a time when we all could have used a few poorly photoshopped pictures and awful, tasteless jokes.

This will be a loose-posting schedule, when we can and however we can. We will be taking suggestions and some prodding as usual. We want to be better and funnier and just in general more awesome at blogging than we were before. But we can only hope.

It's almost surreal that hockey is back. We still don't believe it. It kind of his us how much we missed hockey while watching the boys playing in the WJC. Watching it kind of brought back memories and feelings and out came out the WJC DVD set that Curtis gave us and the Blackhawks greatest games DVD.

We missed the hockey on our TVs and we're sure you did too. So, give us a chance and hopefully we can redeem ourselves.

As a blog, we can only promise to do our best and to bring the funny however we can. It's the least we can do in this shortened season.

It's good to be back and we missed all of you. It's gonna be a whirlwind so let's hold on tight and enjoy it.
