One-A-Day: St. Louis Blues

St. Louis Blues

Oh, the Blues.

They had a great season after starting out of the gate limping. But then things started looking up after the hiring of Ken Hitchcock. When he came in to helm the young Blues, they got their act together and played some great defense.

Their tandem goalies, Jaroslav Halak and Brian Elliott, were the talk of the NHL. Alex Piertangelo was a revelation on the blueline. And David Backes was becoming the hard-hitting captain that every team alternately dreaded and loved.

The last month of the season saw the Blues with the #2 record in the league, two stingy goalies and a healthy roster.

Everything looked sunny and bright for this young team. Then the LA Kings happened. We don't think we've ever seen a team just implode like the Blues did when faced with the strangling defense of the Kings. There was nothing they could do really. It was a four-game sweep that had most of the hockey world stunned.

But this isn't the end of the Blues. Their team is young and they're only going to get better. Hitchcock is the real deal and everyone knows that. He will lead this team to do good things and as fans of the awfulness that is TJ Oshie, we couldn't be happier.

General Manager - Doug Armstrong

Coach - Ken Hitchcock

Team Captain - David Backes

Player(s) everyone should love - Alex Pietrangelo

Player we don’t love - Scott Nichol

[looking at least season's post, we picked the same two players for this...and we don't care that we did because it's still really true]

Who they got - no one

Who they lost - no one

Located at - Scottrade Center

Hotness level - 8

Hmm, why such a high number? Well, let's see. There's TJ Oshie and his questionable taste in BFFs and hair highlight-levels. And there's David Perron who is definitely that awkward kid whom everyone likes enough but sometimes they don't understand what he's saying. Of course we have Patrik Berglund and we love most Swedes. And Alex Pietrangelo who has an adorable face and is going to be a great d-man. For those of us older than twenty, there are of course David Backes and Andy McDonald and Alex Steen and Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak.

Hell, the list could include the whole team. Believe us when we say that this is a highly underrated team in the looks department.

Well, let's be fair, you get extra points for Jon Hamm being in the stands
