One-A-Day: Minnesota Wild

Minnesota Wild

Let's just get the pink elephant out of the room right now...

The Wild signed two of the most sought after free agents this summer, Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. And we still can't believe that Fletcher pulled off this coup.

But the Wild definitely became more dangerous and are probably being talked about as front-runners for the Stanley Cup.

We are going to reserve our judgment until the season starts. Because chemistry is everything.

The season before, the Wild were doing pretty well. Then in the 2011-2012 season, things were up and down and from bad to worse. They didn't make the playoffs.

But that's what free agency is for. Hopefully for Wild fans, Parise and Suter work out and work well together.

General Manager - Chuck Fletcher

Coach - Mike Yeo

Team Captain - Mikko Koivu

Player(s) everyone should love - most of the Wild's defensemen because they're seriously all cute and good and we like them

Player we don’t love - Cal Clutterbuck for reasons such as his mustache

Who they got - Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, Jake Dowell, Torrey Mitchell

Who they lost - Guillaume Latendresse, Nick Johnson

Located at - Xcel Energy Center

Hotness level - 7

Based on the defense alone, we kinda gave them an eight. But then we remembered that Dany Heatley existed and then too them down by three notches.

But the combination of Mikko Koivu's dastardly villain looks and Zach Parise's smile gave the team a point each. The Wild are considered a seven in our books.

Wow, you and I obviously see the Wild differently. At least on a hotness scale. I think a 7 is being extremely generous. The defense corps is not an 8. Scandella is definitely cute, but the others are a mixed bag.
However, I am very excited to see this "new & improved" team. While the chemistry is still unknown they seem to have most of the pieces they need. However, the goalie situation will be interesting. I think it's possible that Harding could be traded as Hackett proved he's ready to be a solid backup (and eventually maybe even a starter). Lastly I'm hoping David McIntyre gets another shot on the big stage. Should be a very interesting season! (assuming Bettman doesn't declare himself Emperor and personally put locks on the arenas of every team)

I am anxious what is going to happen to my boy Cully with the new captaincy and Parise and Sutter. Really hope they can get it back together like they were the beginning of last season. Wish that momentum could have carried them through.

I give Cully extra points because he one of my imaginary boyfriends. Miss him in Raleigh so bad.

I hope Parise and Suter can fill the hole left by Latendresse and Johnson!

Now you see I would give them a 10 based PURELY on Clutterbuck's stache and bike riding ways.

The Wild now strikes fear in my lil Hawks heart...not gonna lie.
