With teams like Sweden, Canada and the United States out of the picture, the finals was populated with teams that have been slowly getting better and better in international tournaments. Teams like Finland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
This year, Russia came away with the Gold medal.
Sliver went to Slovakia. Zdeno Chara accepted the Silver wearing Pavol Demitra's jersey which definitely brought tears to our eyes.
It was a beautiful gesture.
And the Bronze medal went to the Czech Republic over Finland by a score of 3-2. It was their second consecutive Bronze medal in the WC.
