World Championships
- In case you're new to the party, team captains Team USA and Team Canada were announced. Jack Johnson for the Americans and Ryan Getzlaf for the Canadians. Curtis is fond of calling Jack Johnson 'Captain America' on the Twitter feed...we love it.
- Apparently there's a home-ice curse in the World Champs and Team Finland wants to avoid that at all costs.
- It's the usual suspects when choosing favorites to win it all: Sweden and Russia.
- Ryan Murray, draft eligible in 2012 and projected to go second overall, is playing for Team Canada. On defense. Let's just say that he's a pretty good player, obviously. He was chosen as the seventh man but with the injuries to PK Subban and Marc Methot have given him the chance to actually play.
- Now Marc-Edouard Vlasic is out with a leg injury so Team Canada added Kyle Quincey to the roster.
- Team USA played France in their first game and won. Team Canada played Slovakia and won 3-2.

- And earlier today, the Slovaks stunned Team USA winning 4-2. They scored three goals in the first and just kept the Americans at bay.

- The Canadiens hired Marc Bergevin as the new general manager. He was Stan Bowman's assistant in Chicago.
- The Scouting Combine invitees have been announced.
- Florida Panthers forward Kris Versteeg underwent surgery on his left hip on Thursday.
- The NHLPA has filed an appeal on Raffi Torres's twenty-five game suspension.
- There is a chance that Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn could play tonight. Trotz is weighing his options for an important elimination game.
- We saw this picture on Twitter and could not stop laughing. After the triple OT loss for the Capitals, Karl Alzner tweeted a picture of his house after his dogs destroyed it. They looked a little too proud of themselves. Here is the Puck Daddy article about the incident.
- Rostislav Klesla is suspended for tonight's game after his hit on Matt Halischuk in Game Four.
- It is being reported that Rick Dudley could join the Montreal Canadiens front office but he's currently working for the Toronto Maple Leafs so it could happen later, after the draft, or not at all. We will see.

I am sad Team U-S-A! U-S-A! lost but my boy Justin Faulk scored a goal. It's all I've got for today to hang on to.
