Bowling for Charity

Brent Seabrook had his annual bowling night with fellow Blackhawks helping out to raise some money for charity.

Other News:

- After Jay Beagle was knocked out by Arron Asham, Brooks Laich had some strong words for the NHL's concussion protocol.

- The NHL will be holding a hearing for Kris Letang's boarding call that happened yesterday during the Penguins/Jets game.

- Trivia-Time: The Rangers haven't won in Vancouver in fourteen years.

- As more and more eighteen-year-olds make the rosters for NHL teams they have to deal with the implications of them making the team and how they handle it.

- Hockey Canada's President Bob Nicholson wants the draft age raised to nineteen with an 'exceptional player' rule in place as well.

It's the return of the injuries:

- Rick DiPietro is out with a concussion now. Of course.

- Jason Blake was cut on his forearm by Brent Burns's skate and had to have surgery. He will now be out for three months recovering from it.

- Jeff Carter was put on IR after fracturing a few bones in his foot.

- Evgeni Malkin has soreness in his surgically-repaired knee and will be out for a few games.

- Andy McDonald is out with a concussion. He suffered one last season and the Blues are not happy about this news.

- Michal Neuvirth left the Capitals practice session with a bruised foot yesterday.

- Drew Doughty will be out for 7-10 days with an upper-body injury. Boo!

- Tyler Kennedy is out for the Penguins with concussion-like symptoms.

- It never ends.

Do you know how sick I am of injuries? DO YOU? So infuriating. I just want my boys to rest up and feel better and be ready to play again!

Injury Analysis:

Most Worrysome/Nagging Injuries: Jeff Carter & Geno. Their teams really need these two supasta dingleberries and they should be all healed up by now, dammit!!!

Most Saddest Injuries: Jason Blake and Andy McDonald. Haven't these two guys been through enough, already? Jesus. Brent Burns was nearly inconsolable after it happened, though...

Most Pathetic/Retarded Injuries: Rick DiPietro and Drew Doughty. Really? RILLY? Hilarious. Pathetic, but hilarious. How much are they worth between them, technically speaking? Aren't they like 10-million dollar men or something? Right now they're not even worth a DQ Blizzard or a bowl of cold ramen. LAME!!!

Tanger just got 2 games. A lot of my fellow Pens fans are pissed off but I'm not, I think it's pretty fair. We just really don't need this right now with all the injuries.

Is DiPietro even worth mentioning at this point. That guy is just one walking perma-injury. I think we should only note when he ISN'T injured. It happens so much less often.

@EHisCDN: Totally agree re DiPi. There should be some sort of fantasy lottery based on him NOT being sick, injured or on his period.

Okay so the Seabs Bowling Extravaganza... Why does everybody look so damn good here? The venue looks snazz and everybody looks beyond amazing. Even Serious, who is not my type ever at all. And Car Bomb, who decided to wear his toof to the event. Vaguely charming, for a Yeti.

@Jennifer: Yoo Hoo. You didn't mention your boy Montador was a Pumpkins fan!

I have gotten so worried about injuries...I am convinced something is going to happen to Jeff Skinner...that every time anyone gets near him I am like "DON'T TOUCH HIM!!!!!!" I love hitting in hockey (of the checking kind not of the fisticuffs kind) and I am a basket case now when anyone gets checked.

File under joke I am the only one old enough to understand : CarBomb looks like he just stepped off the set of Chico and the Man.

I realize I am blessed to have the best looking team in hockey on my veritable doorstep. Across the board, there's a flavor for every taste. Interestingly my mom appears to be developing a crush on Jamal Mayers...hmm, mom, so much I don't know about you. From Benny Smith to even Carbomb, everyone's...wait for it Esbee....LOOOOOKIN' GOOOOODDD!!!!

I left for work today at 5am and I had watched this three times already. It really goes to show what they've been talking about all this young season--that the new and the old guys are meshing so well, already better than the whole of last season. I think it's because MG's bete noir Stanny picked character guys. And while I didn't know that Monty possessed a love for all things Billy, I find it sweet that he wore that perhaps to bond with the locals. It makes me hopeful that maybe--just maybe--between him and Carcillo I might have a chance. But mostly Monty. Okay, all Monty. (tho' Danny's Twitter is quite amusing...)

Onto the other topic at hand--doesn't this seem to happen at the start of every season? These dudes just go too hard (heh) out of the gate and their bodies say 'haha you stupid fuck, that's what you think...' I swore I thought Geno came back for a hot second. Well, better now than later on--get these aches and pains over with.

DiPietro is apparently held together by chewing gum and old, used band-aids. However, the wackjobs on the Island (and I never thought ANYONE there would be wackier than Mike Milbury) probably really believe he'll put together a Hall-worthy season yet.

Kesler's back in the lineup tonight!!
