What can we say about the Islanders besides feeling sorry for the team and especially their fans. There's a certain quality to a team that underachieves year after year and yet we expect something better for them. We still don't know why.
We've always liked the Islanders because face it, who doesn't like the plucky underdog? Well, we should use the past tense of 'like' because after the hoedown that happened between the Islanders and the Penguins on February 11th, 2011. After that, we were a little wary about giving our love to the team on the Island.
But we have put that day behind us, a little bit. We understand the pain that the Islanders fans have been going through with the new arena deal not being voted positively on. It really, really sucks for the fans.
Maybe with the players that the Islanders signed over the off season...oh wait, there was one signing? Nope, there's no help on the horizon. We're joking. But in all seriousness it seems as though the Islanders have to depend on the kids that they have now. And hopefully they are ready to take the wheel.

John Tavares is deinitely growing into his looks which makes us sooo happy. That means there's hope for Taylor Hall's face.
Also, Josh Bailey is like a gorgeous farm boy.

Who not to like? Trevor Motherf*ing Gillies that's who! I hate that son of a bitch. He has no place on the rink.
And I don't have any love for that brawl. I know people that say "Old time hockey!" I thought it was horrible. I am glad the Isles finally realized (aka got enough bad press about it) that reshowing that game was TACKY.

But the player I have to love is Michael Grabner. Yes me and the twitter again. I love his twitter. (NOT a euphamism). He seems like a good guy.
You may have to devote a one-a-day to Capuano's hair. Hoss needs to go ahead and put on the Member's Only Jacket.

I will cut the fans a little slack about the whole watch party. Obviously that brawl was the "high point" of their season. Plus the voters had just told their DOZENS of fans , go away. We don't care where just get out!
I think Mark Eaton goes on the hot list. He won a Cup with the Pens, that alone ups your hotness factor. Plus he's so stinkin' cute with his daughters!
There really isn't anyone on this team that I like and I positively LOATHE Trevor Neolithic Dipshit Gillies and Michael Boofhead Haley.
No class fans don't endear them to me either, the Pens/Islander rematch is going to be very interesting methinks.
