The NHL announced a Pittsburgh vs. Washington alumni game to be held at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at Heinz Field.
Confirmed for the game are: Mario Lemieux, Paul Coffey, Ron Francis, Bryan Trottier and Bill Guerin.
The “game” – and the ensuing Penguins practice – are only $25.

My cloudy mood has completely disappeared. I am so excited for the Winter Classic, and the 24/7 majigger. I just looked to see if they have it on iTunes, so I could buy it cause I don't have HBO and it's FREE! Yay, the only thing that will ruin my mood is if the Pens lose in the winter classic.
Did anyone else see naked Penguins on the 24/7 show? Or were my eyes playing tricks?
I was at the Hawks/Avs game last night (which in true masochist fashion I am rewatching now) and have 24/7 nestled comfortably on my DVR so Shanny, later today I may be able to confirm your sighting. If it's true...it may take me a little..um..longer to get back to you.
I cannot discuss anything related to the Avs or Duchene for at least a week. Doctors orders. I did Tweet to the Hawks twitter to tell Q all I want for Christmas is a bag skate. A long one. With Dunks and Seabs on ice the longest.
On a different less blood-boiling note, have any of you youtubed Linus Odkirk or whatever-his-name Oiler kid? My brother did and said there's loads of clips of the most INSANE goals. Those Oilers just get scarier and scarier. I mean, not this year but next? DANG y'all, DANG.
Oh and yes, I have requested New Years Day off of work. Not because of any NYE plans but because I'm going to be parked in front of my teevee all freakin' day. Irish coffee in hand, of course. What a glorious day of hockey that'll be!!!!
Statsny and Duchene are THE CUTEST ever. I've seen that video posted a lot lately (because it is awesome) and every time I end up replaying it about 14 times. It's something only guys like that could get away with though. Can you imagine if Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry did that? We'd want to punch them in the face.
@letterstothenhl: EVERYBODY wants to punch Perry & Getz in the face, 24/7 (sorry!), regardless of whether or not they do a "bang bang" dance. :) They're hellof annoying a-holes. SO glad they're not on the Sasquatch team, who used to be my Nordiques.

@MG Yes, StarsNation is quite excited about Burrito & the lads being in first place in the Pacific (if only by one point). The thing that's weighing heavy on the minds of Stars fans now is Brad Richards & what will happen to him if a new owner isn't found. They MUST, MUST find some way, somehow to resign him for two reasons: 1) The puppy has been named. If he leaves hearts will be broken wide open all over the Metroplex & beyond. 2) IMO, this franchise can not handle losing another marquee player. So, hopefully a new forever owner will be found very soon. Because actions have to be taken on this situation sooner, rather than later.
Shanny, your boys won again tonight--funny how the Caps (so tipped to be in the running this year) are in freefall and those Mighty Stars are screamin' into view.
What do you think is the reason people aren't feelin' it? Still too much of a football state? Not good enough marketing? They got word of Furry Burrito's thrice-weekly clinic trips?
@Jennifer What do you mean people aren't feelin' it? After the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, college sports, high school football, & FC Dallas the Stars are the hottest ticket in town :P. Seriously, yes it does have to do with football running the show & they, of course, could use more marketing. It's mostly because of the ownership limbo the team is in now. No one's really showing interest in purchasing the team & the fans aren't sure what's gonna go down if a buyer isn't found soon. It's kind of a scary situation. P.S. considering (I heard) someone licked him at an autograph signing, I really don't think Burrito's clinic visits are that big of a deal.

When I was at the Hawks/Avs game this week, a girl in our row was wearing a Burish jersey and I asided to my friend as she filed past "of COURSE she's wearing a Burish jersey' and my friend made snarky STD comments the rest of the night. (Picture the Burish target and then add her mom.)
It makes me kind of crazy to see teams doing so well--Stars, Thrashers, Avs, even the *gulp* Red Wings--then playing to half-empty buildings. In Detroit I think it's more an economic issue (duh, Jenn) but it must be frustrating as hell for the players. Like writing or painting a masterpiece in your bedroom. On the plus side, for you, tickets must be falling from the sky for two bits! Whereas I have to stalk the Ticket Availability menu like it's newly single Ryan Reynolds. I can see the not wanting to get attached bit too...I can't conceive how difficult it would be to have your team leave..
I wish some of these places were closer for road trips. Detroit's not out of the question....but I do fear for my person wearing the Red and Black up there

Actually, the Stars have the lowest ticket prices in the league & they're always running specials (two for one, all you can eat & drink tickets). I really do wish more people would go out & support the lads. If a prospective new owner saw a full barn every night they'd see the money making potential & buy the team. It's too late for me! I became attached in '94 the first time I saw Mike Modano skating down the ice :o).
Yes, great idea, I feel a 24/7 post is in order. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts also. Especially since there was nudity :D.
