You can tell that the season is almost here because cuts are already being made. And Mike Cammalleri is going apeshit.
Have you seen him mercilessly attack Nino Niedqqqqqqrehgtthher? It was shameful, even for such a tiny man with tiny anger.
And now he's suspended for the first game of the season. There goes Henrik's fantasy team down the drain.
Here are some of the cuts made:
Bill Guerin was let go from the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Toronto Maple Leafs cut Nazem Kadri, Luca Caputi, Christian Hanson and Jussi Rynnas. Brian Burke is a tough fellow.
The LA Kings signed Jonathan Bernier to a contract extension worth 2.5 million for 2 years. Jonny Quick's sweating in his pads.
Other signings were Brendan Morrison to the Calgary Flames and the Rangers signed Ruslan Fedotenko. And the Minnesota Wild signed Jose Theodore.
Brian Campbell was injured during the Penguins/Blackhawks preseason game on October 1st. He sprained his knee and will be out 4-5 weeks possibly.
There's been little talk about the "European expansion" games this season. But the Hurricanes will be playing the Wild in Helsinki, Finland. We know that much.
The Canes were beat by SKA St. Petersburg, with Alexei Yashin scoring and Evgeni Nabokov winning. They had more motivation, duh.
In Finland, Cal Clutterbuck had a hat trick. In this world the Wild can score goals. Yes, we were stunned as well.
Seems like the Ducks are keeping Cam Fowler for the opening night roster. You can tell that Brian Burke is not the GM in Anaheim anymore.
NHL.com has their annual HOT SEAT for each Conference.
East.
West.
And btw Darcy Tucker retired.

Nashville traded pretty Parent for ugly Shane O'Brien. *sob*
Here's hoping he proves me wrong and can play disciplined hockey and not just be an SOB.
Sorry Kelly, he can't. But nightclub business will be up bigtime in Nashville.
And a cute player in Vancouver? Thank you, thank you, thank you.
