One-A-Day: Colorado Avalanche

Colorado Avalanche

The 2009-2010 season started with the retirement of Joe Sakic and the wave of rookies that took over the Avalanche.

It was a sad day for everyone when the number nineteen was raised to the rafters in the Pepsi Center. But we could only imagine what it was like for Matt Duchene. He would never get to play with his childhood hero on his favorite team.

But then the rookies took over the show. The Avalanche had Ryan O'reilly, TJ Galiardi, Ryan Stoa, Brandon Yip and Ryan Wilson. They helped the Avs reach the postseason for the first time since being swept by the Wings two season prior.

The playoffs were ridiculous.

The Avs played three overtime games and took the San Jose Sharks to six games before being eliminated. We are excited to see how far the Avs can go this season.

Coach - Joe Sacco

Team Captain - Adam Foote

Player(s) everyone should love - TJ Galiardi

Player we don’t love - Scott Hannan because he looks like an angry troll

Who they got - no one yet

Who they lost - Brett Clark

Located at - Pepsi Center

Hotness level (on a scale from 1 to 10): 6

They're better than half but not much more than that. The Avalanche have improved since their heyday in the 90s when long hair and slashing was rampant. The up-and-coming boys get cuter every season, like Matt Duchene, TJ Galiardi, Ryan O'Reilly and Ryan Wilson.
