(EDIT: We are back and edited it to be correct. Macke was close enough because we weren't clear with our instructions.)

6. Boston Bruins / 7. Philadelphia Flyers
Boston wins 5-4 in Overtime to take Game 1
Philly worked really hard to get this game into overtime- the Bruins were up by two goals at a few points in the game, but with 3 minutes left, Danny Briere scored to tie it.

But the big story of the game was Marc Savard's return to action after the well-storied hit he recieved from our very own Matt Cooke.
He made it a fairytale ending to that story in overtime with a huge goal and one of the best celebrations we have seen this playoffs.

What a face, sir. What a face.

2. Chicago Blackhawks / 3. Vancouver Canucks
Vancouver stuns Chicago at home with a 5-1 win
This game had an outcome that I for one certainly didn't expect. The Canucks dominated from start to finish, even though Chicago had the edge in shots.
Niemi got pulled after two periods... probably because I took him in my pool. Goddammit.
I don't know about you guys, but up in Canada we have been totally swamped with this series and how big the rivalry has become over the last year. The Canucks definitely wanted some revenge and the Hawks came out flat.
This series is definitely going to be a little more interesting than some of us first expected!

So I did say I would have some more content for you guys today but I ended up working all day and I really didn't have time! But I'll do my best to hit you up tomorrow.
In the meantime- what are your guys' predictions for this round?
Don't forget, Pens and Habs at 2PM Eastern Sunday, GO PENS!

Were you working hard at taking care of those house chores the girls put you in charge of??? :o)
I don't have predictions except for the fact that the Blackhawks vs. Canucks and the Flyers vs. Bruins games are looking to be the two most exciting series in this round... but of course that's my biased opinion.
I think that Canucks/Hawks will be a closer series than the first game, but late in the regular season the teams have taken turns blowing each other out. The key seems to be all about puck possession.
Hmmm, rereading that it seems a little homoerotic, but I think I'll let it stand.
