We were in attendance and it felt like we hadn't watched hockey in months.
Oh, wait, that's because it has been months. And it felt amazing to finally watch hockey even if it wasn't real hockey.
We arrived at nine in the morning and grabbed a row in C7.
The story of the day was the fact that Tyler Kennedy was practicing on Line 1B.
What we found fascinating was the fact that Eric Godard looked fast. And we were surprised. We were betting on him to be the slowest player since Hal Gill had departed.
Marc-Andre Fleury was prepared to play. He made saves that even Martin Brodeur wouldn't think of doing in preseason.
Another fun part was the battle between Sidney Crosby and Alex Goligoski in front of the net.
There were cross-checks handed out and punches thrown. Kinda. It was really rough for the first practice of the season.
Then we did our "research" and watched Team C players leave the arena.
Cappy was attacked by children and he signed like almost everything they handed him.
Even some of the rookies were attacked. It was a lot of fun.
