The Blackhawks have lost their ever-lov'n minds to A) sign Hossa at all and B) sign him to TWELVE f'n years!!!! It makes absolutely no sense to me. Hossa is not going to fit in with the team. He's not going to be a mentor or leader. He's going to choke under the pressure again if the Blackhawks ever play the Pens in the SCF. Omg - I just want to scream. This is a mistake of epic proportions.
I agree. The Hossa deal has to be one of the dumbest deals ever! Why the hell would you sign him for that long and what idiot signs for that long?
Well I can see Hossa wanting a life-time deal after this past post-season disappearing act, but the Hawks have just blown my mind with this contract.

the hossa deal is kinda nuts, at least the 12 years. but the entire city is thrilled about it, he might help out the youngsters a bit. the blackhawks should have another good season with him around.
So WOW. I cannot believe this Hossa deal. I don't know how he'll fit in the with team dynamics, it will be interesting. He's a great player, but 12 years?! This does not fit into the Hawks' "young, hot and Canadian" trend!
Hell, maybe if Chicago keeps inking these 10+ year deals they'll solve their problem of not getting guys to retire with them. Anyways, thanks Hossa for a great season.
