Awards Monday: Week Twenty-Two

Linkz before we get into the awards...

-Bob Smizik, whom we admittedly don't like to read, pretends that he's just being hypothetical when he talks about the Penguins trading Sidney Crosby. Whatever.

-Hal Gill Jr. was put on waivers, hopefully no one wants him and he just goes back to WBS. Proof.

-PG Penguins Notebook was full of little interesting tidbits. Sid as a winger, seeing Whitney in Dallas after the trade and Boucher (remember him?) Link.


Last week was chock full of winners but we sifted through the boys and picked who we thought had the best week.

Hottie Of The Week



Shea Weber


He had a goal, an assist and a fight in the February game against the Detroit Red Wings. And what does all that add up to, kiddies?

A Gordie Howe Hat Trick.

We love his fight because Weber was just pissed that Andreas Lilja was probably going to get away with the penalty (like everything Detroit does) and he wasn't going to let that happen.

The Ryan Malone Wheaties Award

At the beginning of the seaosn, Jonny wasn't doing that well. He couldn't even score into an empty net, literally. But he pulled through it and is now the backbone of the Blackhawks which is why he's the Cappy.


He had his first career NHL hat trick in the game against the Penguins. Then scored in the next game they played. What a Captain.
