Count us shocked. This season has had its fair share of surprises already and this firing has been totally unexpected.
It's only been two weeks into the season and the Hawks just won. But maybe it will be a good thing for the team, maybe they were too complacent with Savard. We'll soon find out.
We love Denis Savard. And we will miss him as the Blackhawks coach.
He has been replaced by the Peculiar Purple Pie Man of Porcupine Peak.

Yes, we just made a Strawberry Shortcake reference. We're girls, get over it.

Don't count the St. Louis Blues out. Six different players scored to beat the Dallas Stars.
Somehow, they figured out how to score this season. And we blame Andy McDonald. He's been on a tear since the preseason.
We're picking the Blues to make the play offs. Everyone else can choose who they want but the trendy pick in our opinion is the Blues.
But our pick is totally uneducated and based on the fact that their rookies are the cutest and they have one of the most underrated and unassuming goal-scorers in Brad Boyes.

Alex Burrows is our new hero. He reminds us of Max Talbot a little bit.

And he scored the game-winner against Osgood last night. We said it before and we'll say it again, Chris Osgood is overrated and will fail. But that's why Ty Conklin is handy.

Rumors abound about the Penguins wanting to trade Jordan Staal to the Wild for Marian Gaborik.
The same Gaborik who hasn't played a whole season because of injury. The same Gaborik who disappears in the play offs against Colorado.
We don't want him, thank you very much. It's not like our opinion matters because we ain't Ray Shero but we still want it heard.
There is no way we can explain why we love Jordan Staal. It's not his looks, it's not his personality and it's probably not the way he plays. But we always want him to do well and be a better player.
We can't explain it, but losing him to Minnesota would break our tiny hearts. And we know people who don't care but we do. We can't help it.

The rookie defensemen have only a few more games left and then we'll see who is left when the dust settles after the ninth game.
We know who we want to stay but that's becuase we're selfish and want to see them play on the television.

Macke wants them all to return to play for the World Juniors but that's because they televise that in Canada. She's also selfish like us.
We can't wait to see how this all pans out. Should be interesting.
