Chicago Blackhawks

It was a great season! We won the Stanley Cup for the first time in 49 years, and it was great time for the entire city, really the whole state of Illinois. The governor named June 11, 2010 Blackhawks Day for the state.

There were no major injuries or trades during the season, it was just winning and keep moving on. It was awesome. Lets hope that this coming season will be just as exciting as the past championship season…

General Manager- Stan Bowman… sometimes I have no idea why he does the things he does, but I guess he knows what he’s doing

Coach – Joel Quenneville

Captain – Jonathan Toews

Player everyone should love – Nikalas Hjalmarsson, because he gave us a little bit of a scare with signing that offer sheet with San Jose, but he’s adorable and couldn’t leave. He’s an amazing shot blocker, awesome defenseman, has a sweet name, and has the best commercials… he makes me want to go to IKEA and eat a MEETBALL!

Player we don’t love – the team is so turned around and all that I have no idea who not to love…

Who they got - Marty Turco, Bryan Bickell, Jake Dowell, Viktor Stalberg, John Scott and some other prospects Jack Skille, Igor Makarov

Who they lost – practically the entire team! This off-season was brutal…Dustin Byfulgien, Ben Eager, John Madden, Colin Fraser, Kris Versteeg, Brent Sopel, Antti Niemi, Andrew Ladd, Adam Burish, Nick Boyton

And probably Cristobal Huet, even though it’s not official yet…

Located At - United Center (UC) 1901 W. Madison St., Chicago

Hotness Level - 10
I think its still pretty high up there, I mean we still have all the hotties, but I think one person brought down the level one notch: Igor Makarov. He notched down the team from the 11 it was last year.

Blackhawks:

The Chicago Blackhawks players in the 2009-2010 season finally completed their “One Goal” after 3 years of coming back into the hockey radar. Fans filed into the United Center every game with a full house sold out the entire season breaking NHL records and franchise records.

The young guns; Patrick Kane, the other Patrick Sharp, Kris Versteeg, Troy Brouwer, Dustin Byfuglien, Antti Niemi, Andrew Ladd, (pretty much the entire team), and lead by Jonathan Toews their Captain [Serious] showed that age doesn’t mean anything becoming the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions defeating the Philadelphia Flyers in 6 exciting playoff games. With their youngest player (Patrick Kane) scoring an Overtime goal against Michael Leighton.

The Blackhawks also started a new series at the beginning of the season with an actual TV show debuting after or before games with interviews, games, and competitions like my favorite the Blackhawks Mini Olympics. Does any other team have a fabulous TV show? I think not! The Blackhawks have summer conventions celebrating how great the fans are and giving them a chance to interact with the players and the entire organization. Again do any other teams have conventions? Psh of course not!

But the good must come to an end because of the dang salary cap situation where you lose players that were really helpful during your playoff run, *cough* Dustin Byfuglien *cough* Antti Niemi *Cough, cough* Sorry choking on deep dish pizza. We also lost our Instigator Adam Burish because he signed on his own to the Dallas Stars. He probably signed in Dallas because he didn’t want to deal with all the shit that was going down in Chicago.

General Manager: STAN BOWMAN

Head Coach: Joel Quenneville

Team Captain: Jonathan Toews

Players you should ALL LOVE:
Jonathan Toews because he’s so awesome, hot, and has really amazing brown eyes.

Patrick Kane because he’s such a little kid still… well minus the drinking and getting arrested and stuff.

Patrick Sharp because he’s Chicago’s sexiest athlete according to Victoria’s Secret, and pretty much the entire team because they won the Stanley Cup!

Players you should All Despise: Well it used to be Cristobal Huet because he was terrible and couldn’t make a glove save to “save” his life. Psh I just had a play on words… or something like that I don’t know. Then you should despise Brent Sopel, because I feel that he is the ugliest mofo that WAS on the team even though he was a great alternate goalie for when Huet was in net.

Who We Lost:
-Ben Eager: Atlanta Thrashers
-Colin Fraser: Edmonton Oilers
-Andrew Ladd: Atlanta Thrashers
-Mary Reasoner (Who we got during the whole mess and then got rid of): Florida Panthers
-Brent Sopel: Atlanta Thrashers
-Kris Versteeg: Toronto Maple Leafs
-Dustin Byfuglien: Atlanta Thrashers
-Adam Burish: Signed with Dallas Starts
-John Madden: Free Agent
MAN DO YOU THINK FRICKEN ATLANTA WANTS TO BE THE HAWKS OR WHAT?? Whatever, I mean who wouldn’t want to be the Hawks anyway?

Who we got :
Marty Turco (G): From free agent signing
John Scott (D): Free Agent signing
Viktor Stalberg (LW): Toronto Mapleleafs

Located at: The United Center or most known for being the Madhouse on Madison

Hotness from a -20 to uh Lot:

Yeah its gotta be um an even bigger number than uh lot because we’ve got the youngest team with no wrinkles or anything (YIPPEE!) The worst thing we have are zits (Puberty much?)

RANDOM NOTE:
So here is our goalie situation: Antti Niemi=Gone, Cristobal Huet=Down to rot in the minors (MUAHAHAHA), Marty Turco=Welcome to Chi town and Corey Crawford=Yeah I don’t know at the moment.

BANDWAGON FANS SUCK!

That is all.

The Chicago Blackhawks

Wow! What a year for our favorite group of Chicago boys fresh out of Canada! (With the exception of Patrick Kane, Dustin Byfuglien, Adam Burish, and a few other Americans.)

As everybody knows, the Blackhawks took home the Stanley Cup in the 2010 season! It was definitely the peak of what has been a quickly escalating hype for hockey in Chicago, after a drought that lasted about 40 years. The Blackhawks had the perfect team. All great guys with senses of humor, big hearts, and a real passion for the game and their teammates. As we all know, though, some things are just too good to be true.

Stan Bowman shocked hockey fans all over Chicago- and all over the country- when he abruptly split up what was the majority of the Blackhawks, leaving fans everywhere grieving and looking for answers. It was almost as shocking as the Hills finale.

Key players that the Blackhawks lost:

-Brent Sopel (Atlanta)
-Andrew Ladd (Atlanta)
-Kris Versteeg (Toronto)
-Dustin Byfuglien (Atlanta)
-Adam Burish (Dallas)
-Colin Fraser (Edmonton)
-Ben Eager (Atlanta)

Niklas Hjalmarsson gave us all a scare when he was almost traded to San Jose, but Stan Bowman surprised all of us by actually showing some heart and matching their offer. So he does have a soul, after all.

Big signings: Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are both signed for 5 year contracts, (Thank God) Duncan Keith is signed for 12 years, and Marian Hossa is signed for a whopping 13 years with the Chicago Blackhawks, all as of the 2010 season.

Random notes:
-Patrick Kane grew a mullet during the playoffs, turning off teenage girls all over Chicago. We are all hoping for a haircut, so he can regain his cuteness by the time the blackhawks convention rolls around!

-Patrick sharp won the sexiest athlete in Chicago, which doesn't surprise most of us, considering his clean cut appearance and overall sexiness!

-Captain serious is still, well captain serious, though he is showing some cute sense of humor now and then!

-Niklas Hjalmarsson has become a new fan favorite for Chicago girls, and we should all keep an eye on him. He is destined for great things, and he is also very hot.

We all thought that Patty Kane learned his lesson last year with the cab driver incident, but he hasn't failed to surprise us again. Pictures of Kane, Madden, and Versteeg shirtless in a limo with some chicks from Vancouver were leaked, but the organization dealed with it in a very professional way and didn't let much slip to the media.

Patrick Kane also gave a VERY drunk speech at the Stanley cup parade in Chicago, and Versteeg rapped to the crowd of roughly 2 million. RIP Versteeg, we will miss your rapping and energy on and off the ice.

After Game 6 vs. Philly, Adam Burish quoted, "I think Chris Pronger is the biggest idiot in the league," Burish said. "I can't stand him one bit. I hope I never have to see him again. If I see him, I'll punch him." RIP Burish, we will miss your big mouth and toughness.

Where does this leave us?
The biggest question that has been keeping all Hawks fans up at night this offseason is "Will there be a repeat?". Our three toughest players are gone, along with key scorers, defenseman, and leaders. The Blackhawks didn't gain any really big names, and now we all wonder if Stan Bowman really did screw us over.

Other problems: The bandwagon fans of Chicago. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!

The hotness level of the Blackhawks would definitely be a 10 out of 10. With the dynamic duo of Kane and Toews, and sexiest athlete Patrick Sharp, and a little Niklas Hjalmarsson thrown in on the side, the hawks can definitely take the gold in this category.

I want to thank my best friend Maggie K. for helping me with ideas for this!

It should be an interesting season, as no one really knows what can happen at this point. What I do know, though, is that the Blawkhawks never fail to surprise us! GO HAWKS!
